KPMG SUPPORTS THE BETTER LIVING CHALLENGE

Jun 26, 2014

As we enter the selection phase of the competition, we are pleased to announce that the Cape Town office of KPMG, a global network of professional firms providing Audit, Tax and Advisory services, is supporting the Better Living Challenge by providing guidance on the competition’s judging and scoring processes. KPMG will provide impartial oversight and expertise which will ensure a scoring process that is fair and implemented with integrity.

The first stage of the judging process is the selection of the finalists in each of the three entry categories – Structural Home, Comfortable Home and Connected Home.  This selection process will take place in June. Members of the selection panel, individuals with expertise across the three entry categories, have been announced on our website. The finalists will be scored according to the published judging criteria and will be announced in July. Their solutions will be showcased at an exhibition in October.

The final Judging Panel, made up of a different and dynamic group of individuals to the selection phase panel, will then score the finalists. Members of the public will also have an opportunity to vote. The combined scores of the Judging Panel and the voting public will determine the overall winners of the Better Living Challenge.

Beyond the competition phase, KPMG will offer tailored business support and a bespoke mentorship service to the winners of the competition. Depending on their needs, these services could include mentorship on the startup phase of a company, business planning and good business practice, systems of accounting, tax structures, good governance and coaching the winners in business networking and deal making.

The Better Living Challenge is very excited to have the support of KPMG.
