After an overwhelming response to our co-design workshop, eager participants gathered in Khayelitsha, Blue Hall, Site C last Friday ready to carry out research and design activities within the community. With talks from designers, community members and industry expert’s, participants were briefed on the challenge and taken on a site visit to experience the problems faced by community members.
Participants then pitched their ideas, which were put to a vote. After the best ideas were selected, groups were formed and their innovative ideas went from the conceptual phase to the creation of model prototypes. The workshop was a huge success, both thought provoking and true to the objectives of the Better Living Challenge.
